On Saturday, September 10, 2022, at 11 o'clock, a delegation representing the Central Committee of Homenetmen, headed by the chairman, Yeghpayr Vache Najarian, members Vicken Avakian, Taline Ordoghlian, and Hratch Siserian visited Sourp Asdvadzadzin Monastery and had a meeting with Catholicos Aram I of Cilicia.
The meeting was an occasion for the Central Committee of Homenetmen to congratulate Catholicos Aram I for being elected as the president of the World Council of Churches and to thank him for his blessing letter for Pan-Homenetmen sports games. The Central Committee also presented to His Holiness the success of the 11-th Pan-Homenetmen sports games and the initiatives of Pan-Homenetmen that would be implemented in the coming months.
The Central Committee informed His Holiness about the construction works of the Pan-European center of Homenetmen in Issy-les-Moulineaux. The construction layout of the center had already been completed and soon, with the signing of the cooperation agreement with the local municipality, the construction works would begin.
In his turn, Catholicos Aram I conveyed his blessing and appreciation to the great family of Homenetmen. Also, it’s worth to mention that the Catholicos of Cilicia, with its diocesan structures, had always stood strongly for the nationalist movement of Homenetmen.
At the end of the meeting, the Central Committee of Homenetmen handed over the souvenir of the 11th Pan-Homenetmen sports games to His Holiness.
Karekin II, Patriarch and Catholicos of All Armenians
On Sunday, July 31, 2022, at the end of the 11-th Pan-Homenetmen sports games, the Central Committee of Homenetmen visited His Holiness Karekin II, the Patriarch and Catholicos of All Armenians at Etchmiadzin. Chairman Yeghpayr Vache Najarian, members Vicken Avakian, Taline Ordoghlian, Hrach Siserian, Diran Vahradian, Tavit Hagopian, and Homenetmen-HASK chairwoman, Kouyr Sandra Vartanian. Achbishop Nathan Hovhannissian was also present during the meeting.
The delegation of Homenetmen presented to Catholicos Karekin II, the development of Pan-Homenetmen sports games and the successful organization of the "Hrashk" sports games. The delegation also presented the global activity and future plans of Homenetmen. Catholicos Karekin II expressed his appreciation to the Central Committee of Homenetmen for implementing such an initiative in Armenia. He also spoke with satisfaction about the "Hrashk" sports games, which brought together 185 teenagers and youngsters who were in need of special care.
Catholicos Karekin II emphasized the importance of Pan-Homenetmen sports games because these games create the best opportunity for the younger generation to get to know each other, to be enthusiastic, to be filled with optimism and to be filled with the spirit of patriotism.
At the end of the meeting, the Central Committee of Homenetmen handed over to the Catholicos the souvenir of the 11-th Pan-Homenetmen Sports Games.
