Online Meeting: Pan-Homenetmen 11th Sports Games

Pan-Homenetmen 11th sports games online meeting that was organized by the Sports committee of Homenetmen Central Committee, took place on Saturday, January 29, 2022 at 5:00 pm (Beirut time). Forty responsible members, sports officials from different regions of the organization, members of the sports committee and the Central Committee, total of 56 participants attended the online meeting.

In the second part of the meeting, Yeghpayr Sevag Garabedian, member of the sports committee, made a power point presentation about the Corona Virus prevention measures undertaken by Pan-Homenetmen 11th sports games.

The third and longest part of the meeting was devoted to the details of the organization of the 11th Homenetmen sports games that would be held in Armenia this summer. Dates of the games, rates of participation, registration forms, accommodation arrangements, games to be implemented, orientation plan, rules of the games, the "Hrashk" games, fund raising and educational issues were also presented with a power point. The presentations were made alternately by the members of the sports committee and the representative of the organization’s information technology (IT) committee.

The participants made inquiries and gave some suggestions to the sports organizing committee about the presented information.

On this occasion, one of the representatives of the Homenetmen Central Committee, Yeghpayr Armand Kilijian and Homenetmen Central Committee Chairman Yeghpayr Vatche Najarian took turns and made speeches.

Yeghpayr Kilijian expressed his satisfaction with the large number of participants in the online meeting and hoped that the participating regions would have the opportunity to be physically together during the 11th sports games scheduled for July, because everyone must work hard for the success of these games.

Homenetmen Central Committee Chairman Yeghpayr Vatche Najarian first mentioned in his speech the two losses that the organization had: The death of the chairman of Homenetmen Los Angeles Chapter, and the untimely death of Homenetmen Central Committee and sports committee member, Yeghpayr Armando Torkomian. Then, Yeghpayr Najarian stressed that Homenetmen kept pace with the latest advancements and faced challenges, he also believed that in the face of the global Corona Virus crisis, and economic turmoil, the impossible could be made by organizing Pan-Homenetmen sports games and nurturing a generation through physical education. Yeghpayr Vatche concluded that Homenetmen always remained committed to its mission as an organization and used sports as a means to create citizens and Armenians that have a healthy national image.

After about three hours of discussions, the online meeting reached to its end with the participants singing the anthem "Harach Nahadag.”
