The Hayg Hovsepian Camping site of Homenetmen-HASK was built in 2010 on a plot of forested land near the Erebuni district in Yerevan. The land was allocated to Homenetmen-HASK by the Government of Armenia and Hayg Hovsepian’s family. Homenetmen friends funded the construction and dedicated the camping site to the memory of his family.

Until his early death in 2004, Hayg Hovsepian was an active and dedicated member of Homenetmen in the Western United States. He was a member of the Homenetmen Regional Committee and the Navasartian Games organizing committee. He nurtured a deep love for the organization and  a strong faith in the education of the younger generations.

The official opening ceremony of the Hayg Hovsepian camping site took place on July 11, 2011. Members of World Organization of the Scout Movement, the Homenetmen Central Committee, and the Homenetmen-HASK Regional Committee attended the event. The opening ceremony was followed by a jamboree for scouts from Homenetmen sister chapters (Homenetmen-HASK and Homenetmen Western United States) and the Ararat Armenian Cultural Association in Iran.

In 2014, the Government of Armenia allocated another plot of land with an area of three hectares adjacent to the camping site in order to expand it. The official opening ceremony of the improved and expanded camping site took place on September 30, 2015.
